Pacific Gas and Electric Company is committed to the economic vitality of all the communities we serve. Our PG&E Economic Development Team, consisting of 18 representatives, works with our partner organizations to attract and retain businesses and jobs in Northern and Central California.

PG&E’s Economic Development Team provides a variety of services to our partner organizations to promote Northern and Central California as a business location; including:

  • Customized electric and gas rate analyses, reliability analyses, electric and gas service configurations, and service connection costs for business attraction and retention projects
  • Local coordination and liaison assistance through the siting, planning, design and operation phases of a project
  • Energy efficiency programs and information to help to help ensure the lowest possible energy operating costs
  • Assistance for the marketing efforts of state, regional and local economic development partners
In 2004, PG&E made over $290,000 in grants to 58 to local governments and community-based organizations for local economic development projects throughout Northern and Central California. This program is funded entirely by PG&E’s shareholders.
