Join the effort to build an inclusive pipeline to grow green jobs in the Sacramento Region!

March 30th 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Workforce demands are shifting across our region in response to the climate crisis, policy mandates, and economic drivers.
The Climate, Justice, and Jobs Summit, taking place on March 30th from 9 AM – 1 PM, will explore how our region’s response to this critical moment will determine the roadmap for access to quality and clean economy jobs as we move to a low carbon economy.
Spearheaded by City of Sacramento Councilmember Eric Guerra and Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District Executive Director Dr. Alberto Ayala, this event will include presentations on current climate legislation, justice and inclusion, and workforce development efforts. We will hear from a panel of community members working in clean economy jobs, learn about their pathway, roadblocks, and effective supports. Joining the conversation will be state and regional experts who will discuss the importance of a focused effort on inclusive access to quality jobs in the Sacramento region.

We will break out for an in-depth discussion in the following sectors:

Climate-Smart Agriculture

Built Environment

Mobility

During the break-outs, there will be a facilitated panel discussion where speakers and the audience will have an opportunity to address the current assets, future needs, and implementation strategies of each sector.

As our region recovers from the highest unemployment on record, generating equitable, quality, clean economy jobs can be the low carbon vehicle by which our region recovers and advances into the future of work together.  We hope you can join us for this important discussion!
