About this Event

Are you a small business in need of funding for cutting-edge research and development?

Please join us for an overview presentation on federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs hosted by the Sacramento State Carlsen Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. SBIR and STTR provide competitive awards for small business research and development through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and participating federal agencies. This funding enables small businesses to advance their technology and profit from its commercialization.

This webinar is specifically intended for small businesses, including start-ups, that engage in cutting-edge research and development with the potential for commercialization. The presentation will cover the following:

  • SBIR & STTR program objectives and eligibility
  • Participating agencies and how to learn about agency award solicitations
  • Critical elements of a successful application
  • How to find local assistance to prepare a proposal

About the Speaker

Janelle Green from the SBA’s Sacramento District Office economic development team will deliver the presentation. Created in 1953, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is the only cabinet-level federal agency fully dedicated to small businesses and provides counseling, capital, and contracting expertise as the nation’s only go-to resource and voice for small businesses.
