Workforce trends in automation and digitalization, accelerated by the pandemic, will continue to eliminate low-skill jobs. As these occupations disappear, displaced workers – disproportionately people of color – need skills and connections to get the good jobs of today and the future.

A new report from IEDC’s Economic Development Research Partners program, “The Future of Work and Inclusion,” highlights how economic development organizations are helping workers of color prepare for and connect to higher-skill, in-demand jobs. This webinar – held in partnership with WorkRise, a research-to-action network on jobs, workers, and mobility hosted by the Urban Institute – builds on the report by highlighting additional examples of community strategies focused on the future of work and inclusion.
