Services deserts – from food to broadband to healthcare – have a great impact on equity in communities. For example, racial and economic disparities in food access remain a considerable concern with around thirty percent more non-white residents facing limited access to food retail than white residents. Fast internet means new online opportunity in any city, and many food deserts provide limited or unaffordable healthcare services, contributing to negative health outcomes for people living in these areas. This webinar will discuss combating these service deserts in communities, thus contributing to more equity within them.
