The Vision-to-Action (V2A) community engagement model is a proven method of working with a community to reimagine underutilized and blighted areas. It engages municipal staff, residents, community groups, regulators, local businesses, and the property owner to work together, establish goals, and compare alternatives to optimize redevelopment outcomes. The V2A process also gives diverse and historically underrepresented stakeholders a voice in the planning process, resulting in higher quality, community-informed and supported projects that are more likely to reach completion. The team who facilitated a fully virtual V2A process in Ponderay, Idaho will speak about the process and tools used for this small rural town as well as highlighting additional examples and tools available for a successful V2A. Is a V2A the right next step for your project or community? What does a V2A look like? How do you get started on the process? Find out at CCLR’s webinar. This webinar is accredited through the American Planning Association New York Upstate Chapter. AICP certified planners who complete the webinar can receive 1 certification maintenance (CM) credit.
